I have a number of parts for the 400 which may be compatible with the 550 surplus to requirement. PM me if you want anything and I'll let you know if I have it.

The Prophet of Doom

Are you wrecking your 400, or just leftover parts from turning it into a board tracker? I need a TCI unit

dingleberry

There is just a whole lot of parts I don't need or want. Will still continue with the project. Unfortunately I will hang on to the TCIs until I know the status of what I have. Have a spare frame, couple of shaft drive assemblies, wheels and all the stuff that's not going on a ridiculously lightweight café.

It will be light, but might not handle so well without frame & wheels.   ;D

I'll take a pair of wheels if they are in good condition.  The 400 have tubeless type rims where the Australasian 550 only has tube type.  How much?

I think PinholeNZ needs an instrument cluster.

dingleberry

Wheels are in good condition, two sets to choose from, $40 a pair with tyres? Have two instrument clusters I'm sure.

Yes Rohan very funny that light joke of yours! If the completed bike is less than 150kg I'll be pretty happy.

So just a touch heavier than a XR500? - you'll be needing to drill holes in everything I think

dingleberry

It will be done. That alone will give me the extra power available to carry my 105kg arse around the twisties. Or I could stop drinking beer. Where's that drill...

Hi fellow Kiwis,

Anybody know where i could get a 46mm socket for the crank nut in NZ??

I bought a gold XZ550 of trade me months ago but engine had a knock.

THANKS

The Prophet of Doom

You need a spanner, not a socket
Any machinery specialist like George Henry can get them... or on the Interwebs of course.    Prepare to be outraged by the cost.

The Prophet of Doom

@ 750tracker - Pics of the Gold vision please

750tracker

Makes more sense, Im guessing aroung $60+gst. Will post some pics up tonight. Bike is dereged. Want to get it running right then get it re-vinned.

dingleberry

If you don't want to shell out the $$$ then borrow one (local workshop, mates, club member etc) or if you're handy with a welder make a crude spanner/ modify an old large one etc.
You in the North Island or South?

Im in auckland, Found a 46mm spanner on trade me for $30, so bought that. Hopefully it works. Any other vision members in auckland?

The Prophet of Doom

Just PinholeNZ there used to be a couple of others but they sold their bikes.

Is yours the yellow one with the RZ tank? - that's all I recall being on trademe.  How much did you spend? we love keeping an eye on prices

750tracker

I wish that was my bike, that thing was mint. Mine was listed in parts section.

The guy wanted 250 for the motor, but i offerd him 500 and took it away.

750tracker

@ Dingleberry do you have a decent condition tank for sale??

Doeas anybody know where I can get the front fairing in NZ??

Sorry for thread jacking, Heres a pic of the bike.

The Prophet of Doom

What sort of fairing, and how much money do you have (ie what sort of condition)
I can hook you up

Also can sell you a dinged but leakproof tank, or an undinged one that needs work

dingleberry

The tank I have is not perfect but is cheap. I'll have a look at it and let you know.

Thanks fellas, might be stripping the bike down for parts. Went to turn the engine over today(by hand) and it locks up. Not sure what's causing it but contemplating on stripping the motor down.
