Blake, regarding other front ends, I tried one from a FZR 1000 and almost had it, but the difference in 'set back' between the fork legs and the steering stem is different.  The Vision requires a fairly good distance in this regard, and the FZR had significantly less.  This caused the fork legs to bang into the radiator and tank.  So, if you are to consider other front end make sure there is sufficient 'set back' or whatever they call it.
