Indicator Cancelling Close Call.

I recently had to replace my XZ550 instrument panel with one from an XZ400. My indicator cancelling never did work, but I took a reed from another XZ550 instrument panel, wired it in to the replacement panel and hoped it would work. Also replaced the flasher sensor tucked in behind the TCI. No joy.

Having had a close call because I forgot to cancel my indicators, I have opted to install this device</a> which gives an audible signal after 20 flashes or can be over-ridden while stopping at the traffic lights by applying either the foot or hand brake. MUCH cheaper than the snazzy new (expensive) Smart Turn Systems (STS) device, but hopefully, nearly  as effective. I will report back.

It's easy to replace a non-functioning part with another non-functioning part. 

Don't want to tell you how to suck eggs, but there is a fairly straight forward test procedure for this in Haynes.  Follow it and find out which bit is really not working.
