clutch lever switch retainer

Does anyone know how the switch on the clutch lever is kept in place?  Mine comes out and I can't see how it ever stayed in place to begin with.

There is a plastic retainer that is part of the housing that needs to be depressed to remove it. More than likely it is worn out. The retainer is on the bottom of the clutch perch. You could always run without it. I don't remember if I had to jump some wire or not.
