My OEM stator just failed, and I was thinking of getting an Electrex R/R for $125 from Dennis Kirk. Since I'm gonna let the V sit for a while, I thought I'd get your opinions first. Oh yeah, you can vote for more than one choice above!

The only thing that I think would cause a stator failure would be too much current in the windings (shorted failure this time to ground). This would have to be caused by not enough current being shunted by the R/R. ?:P I know there is much more to it so, the V sits in my garage again tore apart. ?:'(

First thing i replaced what the R/R with a new OEM one.  when my stator finally kicked the bucket, i bought a Electrex one.  Havent had any problems at all since then.  I've clipped the connectors and soldered them together, and its been running great ever since..
