Need help with YICS

I am changing the hoses that come out of the YICS and I was wondering what the hard ball in the shortest hose is???

Do I need this ball there???  Or can I just git rid of it??

There shouldn't be any ball in any of the hoses. Maybe a previous owner?

It sounds like the previous owner was blocking off the YICS by putting a ball bearing in the hose.  Perhaps your YICS is leaking, which would explain the choice of blocking off the YICS.  See Lucky's page (or search this forum) for directions on YICS repair, an easy job.

if you use the instructions on my site, note that according to Jason (I haven't tried it) you can open up the YICS by hitting it on the corner with a hammer
