Is there a brake caliper rebuild kit available and where might one find one?   Many thanks

Cdnlouie

Yes there is.  I have an aftermarket kit from my local shop for about $20.  Someone else probably has a source for you handy, but if you can't find one I will find out for you.

Most calipers don't need anything but cleaning. you can remove the two seals (square o rings)  and clean them in alcohol or clean brake fluid ( never use  a petrolium based solvent) be sure to inspect  the groves that the you removed the o rings from. If  there are any deposits carefully scrape them out , then wash it. Coat the o rings and the piston   with a thin coat of silicon grease intended for brake applications  (sometimes called, sliding grease)
I've done a lot of them and never had to replace a o ring yet. Mostly, they just get contaminated.

Go soothingly on the grease mud, as there in lurks the skid demon
