throttle cable

hey guys
i was out for a long ride (about 150miles away) and poof no more acceleration so i pulled over and found that my throttle cable broke and in such a place that it cant be repaired. does anyone one if a cable from an 81-83 xj550 maxim would fit, or have anyideas as to what i should do. also if anyone has a windscreen for an 82 vision for sale at the right price give me a shout

Don't know about the XJ cable fit, but I have an extra cable for an 82 vision if you can't find one elsewhere. It's used but in good shape. I took it off because I replaced my taller 82 handlebars with the shorter 83 bars.

I have a slipstreamer "fairing" (i'd call it a big windshield, it has no body work) adapted for my 82 for $60.  it sits nearly vertical over the headlight and provides awesome wind protection.  wind hits just at the top of my helmet, it also gives good wind protection for the hands. it's not new, and has a few small scratches, but visibility is very very good.
