Recently one of the carb float brackets broke off of my carberator.  I finally got around to fixing it today, and I have some pictures to show what I did, and to see if anyone else ran into this problem.  To fix it, all I used was a small 4-40 alen wrench screw, a little bit of lock-tite, and some gas resistant epoxy.  Below is an explanation of what I did. If the pictures don't work, right click on the url below each picture and click "Open in new Window."  An error should come up.  Just change the url in the "address" box, adding a "g" to the end, so the url will read ....CFinal2.jpg.  Hopefully this will work, geocities uploading is a pain.

Here is where the part broke off of (red box), and where I put the screw in.

Awesome Job!  a couple of questions:
did you trim the excess epoxy off? what brand of epoxy did you use? can I post your pics on my site?  4-40 screws are commonly used on RC cars, so they should be available at any hobby shop.

Once the epoxy dried, I trimmed off the excess.  I used a Permatex Gasket Sealant that says "For use on Cork, Metal, plastic, gaskets, pipes, and flanges" and resists "hot and cold water, steam, oil, gasoline, kerosene, grease, mild acids, and alkalis."  It is called "Form A Gasket Sealant."  I picked it up at Auto Zone, hopefully it will hold.  The tap, drill bit, and screw can easily be found at your local hardware store (Ace Hardware, True Value, etc).  Feel free to post the pics on your site.  It's a pretty easy repair, but definately one that has to be done if this breaks, and it sure beats buying a new carb just for this.  Thanks!

plus, you can't buy a "new" carb anyway, just one from us, Ebay, or a scrap yard, IF your lucky...

I tested out my Vision today after putting the repaired carb on it and everything seems to be running great.  Only time will tell if I have completely fixed the problem, but I don't see why it wouldnt have fixed the problem.  It ran solidly for about a half hour, a nice Sunday afternoon drive.  I got her up to 90+ no problem, pretty sweet to be so free and be going so fast.  Anyway, my Vision is back to a good running condition.
