thanks for the update, Micapeak has been around for years and was part of
the original inspiration for creating this site because there was no vision list.
I used to belong to the xj list because it was the closest thing to the vision
plus I used to own a seca 750.

thankfully there are no hosting issues any more now that we've moved......

I wasnt sure if micapeak adds lists easily or not, but I figured if the old site was hosted at someone house, that might be a better option. The new forum seems pretty snappy, do you guys have actual control over the machine? or is it one of those hosting servers you just ftp to?

Is this a single package deal? I saw the simplemachine link and it looked kinda interesting. I'm so used to *nix and building servers that I figured no one really uses all in one packages, but you guys seems to have things working nicely.

ok, hosted on *nix php mysql etc.
nice hosting package, did some research to find them.
smf is a canned script, an upgrade if you will from Yabb, sort of like "son of Yabb"
most of the code was rewitten by one of the original developers,
the rest would be mine. ( with a bit of help here and there )
many thanks to the guys who hang out here and support
the site.
sysadmin by day, web developer as one of my many hobbys.
my boss is pro m$ so we are phasing out all of our unix systems one by one.
the mainframe and netware servers are also long gone...
