Flasher gremlins

Hope someone can help here.

For some weird reason my right hand flashers have stopped working. Well they sort of works if you rev the motor hard, but at tickover it just stays fully on.

Stranger still is it only effects the right hand side, the left indicators work fine even at tickover. I've taken apart and cleaned all the connectors I can think of, all bulbs are fine with no corrosion. Could it be the relay or flasher unit?
Or even the switch itself? It seems that reving the motor would cause more current to the flashers? and thertefore overcome excessive resistance on one side?

I'm beaten by this one. HELP.

I am not sure how the blinkers are set up. I did notice on mine that when the front ones are disconnected and I try them they stay full on. but when the front blinkers are connected they blink albeit slowly.

Is it a relay problem? I am not sure how these are set up.

Have you checked for the correct flasher bulbs? If someone has substituted a bulb that draws less current than standard, the flasher will not work as it is supposed to. Also, if there is a dirty connection, there will be more resistance and less current, same result.

Do you have a fairing on this bike? I know that on mine with the fairing, the wires get worn right were they come out of the stalks on the inside of the fairing.  If the wire is still connected and not worn all the way through yet, it will give the same results.

is she charging allright? I read somewhere that this blinker thing can be the first sign of the harging system going down.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I'll check all all the wires and change all the bulbs.

This could also be a bad ground. Something similar to this happened to me last summer. All of my blinker lights came on and stayed on. Check the ground on the left side of the frame under the tank, then check where this wire connects to the harness. I found that by turning the handlebars to the far right to lock it, it pulled the gound wire loose from the harness, which caused the blinkers to stay on.
