I have been trying for weeks now to get my handlebars off the stupid risers. I have destroyed several hex head sockets, and one of the bolts that hold the bars on. I tried an impact driver yesterday and it just ruinned the other bolt. I have been soaking them in wd-40 for days and NOTHING SEEMS TO HELP!!!!! Any suggestions would be great!

are you talking about the pinch bolt or the large cap bolt on the end?
forget WD-40, use PBlaster, that stuff WORKS.
if it's the cap bolt, you can grab it tightly with some large vice grips and smack it with a hammer, that shopuld crack it free.
if it's the pinch bolt you may have to get in there with a chisel and try to turn it out by hitting the chisel on opposet sides of the bolt alternating between one side & the other.

all elase fails try some heat and one of the methods described above.

if you still can't get them out, remove the risers & all and buy a set from someone here on the Forum

The pinch bolts came off without a struggle. It's the large cap bolts at the end. I picked up a can of the blaster, so I'll try that.

Lucky

grab them with big vice grips, & smack them, or use the chisel
