Hey All,

The Bike is still not running right, and I wanted to double check the fuel/air mixture settings for the 83 carbs.  From reviewing old posts, I have been starting with 2 1/2 turns out.  Is this the current numbers that we are using?
A bad marrage is like dirty carbs... It just makes everything else suck.

that's a basic # for getting the bike started.
use the drop idle method for dialing it in.
--get the bike warmed up, cap off the YICS & one at a time, turn an idle screw in till the bike just begins to run rough. then back the screw out 'till it runs rough again.
--set the screw in the middle of this setting.
--repeat for the other carb.
--hook up the YICS, set the idle speed & go for a ride. make 1/4 turn adjustmets as needed.

Thanks Lucky.
The adjustments on the 83's are in a much better spot then the 82's!

yeah i agree the adjustment on the 82 sucks, I have a long skinny flathead screwdriver that just makes it.

ON  the all carbs it will vary due to manuifacturing tolerances of the carbs and condition of the engine. But mine with 52.5 or the stock 50 pilots have been 4 turns out +/- 1 turn. I got an '83 set that was sealed at the factory off a low mileage 83. They were both 4 turns out ft & rear.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules
