side cover - type of plastic

 I am about to paint my bike and have found a small crack in the left side panel, does anyone know what type of plastic those panels are made from ?

I took a chance and tried to weld the crack with a soldering gun and a slice of ABS pipe. Ground off the excess and it seems to hold like a rock. So I'll say they are made from ABS ;D

yup.. its abs.


I wing the high roller route and bought a plastic welder from harborfreight when it was onsale.


out of the three rods they gave me (nylon, abs, and something else) abs worked the best, and after reading the instrustions AFTER the fact, it came out abs
