Was wondering if anyone had any ideas about how to shorten up the stock risers, I would prefer a Clip on handle bar but the $$ aren't available. I was thinking about cutting them down and rewelding it.

I know the 83 has a shorter riser but I want it lower than that.

Any ideas would be extremely helpful.

 :) Jay,

A set of clip-on's from the bone yard,(Sonic Salvage,N.C.K. or Zdeno) shouldn't cost that much? ??? The alternative is to take your riser's to a machine shop, show them what you need and see how much they want for a custom set? 8). It could be they can machine down yours or they may have to make new ones? ;)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

'82 Vision, Pearl Orange finish, lots of up-grades!!!

Your options are limited.. I'd be very wary about cutting down the stock risers. they are aluminum, & unless your very well versed in aluminum metalurgy, your creating a dangerous situation.  better to save your $$ & buy some clip-ons.
