82 and 83 seats different?

Are the 2 seats the same? They mount the same etc etc? They look the same. Will an 82 seat fit on an 83?

As far as I'm aware, they are identical.  Should fit either year.

I have swapped seats between my 82 and 83 and they fit with no problems.

they fit the same. BUT they are not identical. The '83 does NOT have the ridge seam on the side that sticks up. Meaning it's smooth all over.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules
