wandering idle

I.m still debugging Carlies V. After rebuilding and balancing the carbs, the idle still wanders even with the yics plugged off. All hoses look ok and there is freeplay in the throttle cable. I'm guessing intake boots cracked.Any other possibilities?

look for leaks anywhere ther is vacuume applied: petcock, fuel pump, throttle shaft(wiggle it) intake gaskets, control valve (83 only) etc.

use TINY shots of carb spray thru the straw tube on anything that has vacuume as mentioned above, or has gaskets, like the carb bowl. you should note a change in idle if a leak is detected. a leaking YICS si basicly a vacuume leak, so your looking for a similar cause.

is putting the word "tiny" in all caps an oxymoron?? oh wait, that's me, nevermind...
