The vision and I got up close and personal with some sand the other day. I guess I was lucky it happend in a dirt driveway, I was only going about 10 mph. The sand was a good 3-4 in of pure powder. Neither of us sustained any damage though I'm still getting sand out of my left shoe and left side of my jacket. I deffinately have more respect for traction control and my gear since I diden't even get a brouse

Well, you are right looking at the good side: 10 mph. Crashing on a highway curve teaches you the same things, but hurts a lot more.

My first lesson was at age 13 on a dirt road with an 80 cc motorcross; broke my shoulder; grew up quite a bit.

Glad you and the bike are not messed up!

How familiar ;D I often drive with my friend, but he has enduro and we choose roads suitable for him - mainly dirt roads. I´ve had luck to stay on wheels although i´ve been off the road. But still - soft sand and loose gravel are great threat to the Vision for its relatively heavy front end, depends on tires too.
