83 jetting on 83 carb

I remember someone saying something about 83 jet configuration on  a 82 carb. What do you think about that guys?? I have a spare set of 83 jets I can mount on the 82. low rpms jets as well as main air and fuel jets...

NO! I would not do it ?unless you have '83(U.S.) front pipes and carbs. If you only have '83(U.S.) front pipes then change just the main jet to match the rear(127.5) and adjust the pilot screw in some at the front. I did that and the difference was very noticable.  If just changing the jets fixed the '82 problems, Yamaha would have done that. But there was more involved.
