It's time to buy new tires for the Vision. Has anyone out there had really great luck with a particular brand or even a different size of tire???

Avons

100 front, 120 rear

love em.  definately will be the brand i put on this bike again.  check out my post in "goin riding".  i did a little write up on them.

I do both "hard" riding (only have about 1/4" of tread on side of tire that i havent gotten to yet) and also nice cruises.  tire performs beautifully.

Hi Venture -

I agree with Blake on the Avons.  The preferred model is the Super Venom 20 (front) and Super Venom 18 (rear)  The only thing I'd add is that some people have been told by the tire sellers / mounters that the 120 is too wide for rear Vision rims and will only mount a 110.

One possible source with good prices - http://www.dmtaonline.com/items.asp?CartId={088E6910-602E-403EVEREST0-B8F3-A6842323E01A}&Cc=AVONAM20AM18&iTpStatus=0&Tp=&Bc=

Hope this helps!

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

My tires the Avons described by h2o. Front 100, Rear 110. I'm very happy with them.

There are some very good tire threads in the archive and lots of good tires on the market. The Avons were my choice last year after reading the old posts.

I'm running 110/90 front and 120/90 rear, works for me. I upsized because the original rear wore out too soon, less than 4500 miles. I may go to a 120/80 rear and 100/90 front next tire change.

Yes, AVON SUPER VENOMs. I have Metzelers on my '83 and the Avons on the '82. The 82 feels better in the corners. The Metz's are good. But the Avons feel glued to the road. If you want more mileage. You can put an Avon Roadrunner on the rear. 100 front and 120 rear works fine on these bikes. Although Avon says the 110 is better for the rear.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules
