can't get the rear axle out?!?!

I changed the tire about two months ago, and now (trying to switch out the exhaust and the rear brakes) I can't seem to get the axle out.

the wheel nut could have been over tightened (was kinda hard to get started moving) and the rear brake is worn out to the indicator line (I still have about .030-.040pad left though)

when I tap it with a wooden dowel on the axle it seems like it's hitting something solid, BUT I CAN spin the rear axle around freely (light drag)  and it moves back and forth about till the bolt disappears in the hole, then stops cold  weird huh?

anyone ever run into this?

P.S. (yes all the nuts and bolts are loose, yes I know how to remove a rear wheel, I did it 4 times before this, on this very same bike with no trouble)

wha happon?!?!?!?!

ok never mind,...it was bound up on a tiny burr inside

I just beat the freakin crap outtovit  :D

anyway, I now have a shiny rear brake cover (and new sintered pads) and a GOOD (almost no rust) exhaust which has only some light scratches (looks like a spill on gravel) on the underside, totally un-noticible
