Gas leak. Petcock?

Mine too, has come loose at times.  It doesn't leak (yet) when I press it back into the petcock body with firm hand / arm pressure and it seems to stay tight until the next time I work on the fuel line

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

I also on my '83 had the pressed fitting loosen. ALSO used JB weld Qwik. I think we have found a common issue.

That's my next job.  My JB Quick weld is getting cured with a space heater right now.
