I am going by my experience and without the vent lines the bike wouldn't rev, hooked them up and she revved to redline. That was the only thing I changed. It would be worth experimenting with and I am talking about highway speeds where I feel high pressure is building under the tank.

you must have the vent lines routed to a non-pressure or vacuum area. Otherwise the result is improper fuel level and other turbulence in the carbs. Ours is routed to a hollow part of the frame.  The difference is obvious at hiway speeds.  If you don't drive 70+mph...you may not notice.
