Hello,
I was at the carlisle bike fest the other day and walked past a guy selling lots of used carbs so i took a look and thought i found an 82 carb for 10 dollars so i bought it.  I have compared it w/ my 82 carb and now i think it belongs to something else.  It came w/ a choke cable and the part # was the same.  Everything appears to be the same except two vacume lines and the jets say 130 instead of 135.  Just wondering if anyone knows if it came off of a an earlier 82 since i read there was two types.

here is a link to the pictures

That's the 82 carb without the mid-year upgrade.  The airbox top for it would not have a vacuum actuated flapper door, either.  The upgrade kit included 135 air jets - the original size was 130.

Not necessarily an earlier carb 'type', just one that wasn't upgraded.

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.
