I think we may have Artherdent   (David)  back on the road soon . He came up Sunday  and  brought his disassembled engine. We dug out one of my spare engines  and pulled the top end off, revealing two very rusty bores.  We reduced it to the bottom cases and the right side , then went through the starter clutch and tighten the shaft nut (which was loose)  The starter clutch had eaten one socket head screw up , but had no other damage.
The Odo showed only around 10,000 miles and the bore and rings were perfect , although there was some evidence that one cylinder had been off before.  The bottom end looked pristine and I have no doubt it will be serviceable.
Maybe in the near future, I'll be able to ride with another Visionary!

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

::) Hey you "OLD GEEZ" managed to sneak back into ROV after trying several logins. ::)I just opened up a used engine I got for my Seca project and discovered I should have left it alone. I was worried the starter/alternator chain guide was needing replacement(the old engine's one was in pieces). The thing is low(10k)mileage out of Mass. and looks cherry inside even though the out side had some salt air crusting. Glad to hear you've found a new playmate-I found one up in Ramsey plus the guy I bought motor from. Shoot me an email sometime. ;) Guzzi John-piers006@tc.umn.edu
