 :) The '83 footrests are set back a couple of inches compared to the '82's...Therefore the '83 brake pedal is shorter than the '82... and the '83 gear adjuster linkage is longer than the '82's...This was all done when Yamaha decided to go with the full fairing on the North American Vision's...They also went with twin front brakes, a bigger master cylinder, shorter handlebar risers, fuel gauge, etc, etc... ;)
