I had a 110 90 on my V for about 1 week , its too big and makes it handle like a steam roller . It slows it down way to much for me.  my 2 cents

With the Spec2. You may only need to rejet the '82 front carb to a 127.5 like the rear. The '83's stay close to stock.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules

Just to answer your question Rick, the
Predator is a 4 into 2 into 1 system.
I put about 350 Miles on her this weekend and
she still sounds sweet. gotta clean the bugs off tho' ;D
as far as rejetting for the spec II, I did not.
however, when I first got my bike and rebuilt the
carbs, it seemed a bit lean while I was working on
the hesitation thing. after some adjustments I ended
up opening up the mains about maybe 2 thou.
that was with the stocker exhaust about 4 years ago.
it's still setup the same way now. I averaged high 40's
for mpg over the weekend. I don't know how that compares
but I think it's in line with whats been reported around here.

sorry to hear about the bike, hopefully nothing too major.

At first I thought it was repairable, the instraments were toast, the Vetter Quicksilver was shattered (no great loss) a small dent in the top of the gas tank, a small tear in the seat cover, a broken mirror  and the MACs  were pretty dented and bent, what cinched it was the odd angle of the rear wheel . Either the swing arm, the swing arm mount  or both are bent. Sooooo I'm  starting on the "red bike".

I took my '83 for a ride this evening and it is doing pretty well. I had some major gas leaks last time out, had to double clamp some of the fuel lines. Still have the Dunlops on it, 110/90 in front but as I am in Florida, cornering is not a huge issue. Still running the stock jetting with the Spec IIs and it still runs good.

here is what a pair of modified specII pipes look like for those
that were curious.
