I won't like it, and will work diligently over the next four years to change the situation

For now, I'll just say 'trust, but verify".

The two quotes from your posting seem to contradict each other.

I'll put it a very simple way, During the Clinton terms, I made twice as much money in income than I did during the George W. Bush years.

And I congratulate McCain on a great concession speech.  It was very good.

I also voted to allow gaming regions vote to raise the stakes and let casinos stay open later.  The REAL result is NOT a good thing as it does allow more gambling addictions but hey...it's your area's problem.

No contradiction.  Government is not the answer, it is the problem.  The basic tenet of the Democratic party is that Government knows better how to run my life than I do.  That's pure bovine scattology.  More government stifles liberty and limits the potential of the people.  Broad statements, but it took me reading many books to reach those conclusions.  Trying to illustrate it here would become at least as long and boring as a Doctoral thesis.

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

That's an interesting interpretation...

But we all know you and I don't agree on some things...   Best to just discuss tuning carbs (which I think mine are out of sync slightly.  They don't pull well after 8500 RPM)...

I might've voted for McCain but he took Palin as his VP.  That alone could get me to vote against him.  Don't care that she's a woman, just that she's got enough of a record on things for Alaska don't need her importing 'em to the country.  Now if Rice had been willing to go for Pres or VP that possibly would've have gotten mine.

As it was, after comparing policies for both on a couple of supposedly independent websites I sided with Obama.  I don't like all of his policies, I'm against his notions for gun control and partial birth abortions.  Personal opinion on first trimester abortions is pro-life but I vote pro-choice...don't think my opinions should be forced on others when it's their life not mine.  Same with gay marriage, some may argue about their kids being exposed to it blah blah but their decision to get married has no effect on anyone else's life.  You don't want your kids swayed, brainwash-I mean sway 'em by being involved and teaching 'em how you prefer them to be raised.

Anyhoo, except the first issue & a half mentioned Obama had the majority of views similar enough (if he sticks to the campaign views, we'll see).

Unfortunately, depsite requesting my absentee ballot online and through the base voting office I never recieved mine.  Not that it'd matter much, Florida is one of the states that doesn't even open absentee unless the decision is within a certain number of votes apart.  My roommate says Pennsylvania is the same way, and other states received coverage on absentee issues as well this year.  So even if I'd sent it in it'd likely have ust been shredded unopened anyway. :P

Time to settle in for the term and see how things go.  I wasn't initally a fan of Clinton but he did seem to get the budget closer to being in order and seemed to do alright with foreign policy overall.  Oh yeah, plus now people can bet how long it takes for a radical group such as KKK or the Skinheads to try & assassinate Obama.

Ah, such fun to be out riding...
