So I have the bike back together with a new lower end( new used ) with the exception of the tank, air box, and seat. Hopefully I will be able to get her going. Tried to start it by pouring a bit of gas in the carbs ( didn't have much gas ) but nothing. The starter is acquiring some oil but a trip to the local bearing shop is soon to come. I hope to be riding within the next week!but with my luck something else will go bad on my V shortly after I spend $120 bucks on registration and insure
Itfor a year!

Hope all goes well. As far as "Ilene" is concerned I think it will be next season when she is all set for the road. Keeping my fingers crossed for you  :D

good luck brother! if you need anything just call! i might have an oil seal but the drive may be more costly than the seal!

Gonna need an oil seal. Could even get the starter to turn. Took it apart and it seemed like there was about a quart of oil in it

Think someone posted in the swap shop that he ordered some of the chicago rawhide not sure the price but if you only need that seal he may still have some.

He told me % each but he is waiting for the to arrive. should be in a few days i think. i want two or three as spares!!

Yea he wants 5 for them which is a fair price. I'm going to the bearing shop soon so I'm just going to grab one or two there
