fuel economy 101?

Hi,   I have a lifetime average fuel economy of 49mpg +. My best tank was 61mpg and my average over the past 3 months is 52.35 mpg. I log every fillup and do my best to ride effficiently in normal traffic. My fellow Visionaires will be interested to note that currently I have the highest  percentage over the manufacturer rating for motorcycles and scooters on the the Gassavers.org forum.
