Anyone ever used a flexible camera to inspect the inside of the gas tank, if so was it an effective way to see the condition of the internal?    BDC

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

A borescope would be a good thing to use, but the lights attached to them get very hot.  This heat, combined with gasoline vapors could be slightly inflammatory.

I've got no experience with it, but this one, coupled to a USB extension cable and a laptop could be the cat's PJs for this.  http://www.amazon.com/Flexible-WebCam-Infrared-Vision-Microphone/dp/B001TBFGTE/ref=sr_1_1?s=gateway&ie=UTF8&qid=1285784410&sr=8-1
