White ranch/Crawford gulch around part of 46 then back to itself
Highway 119 to Estes Park
Bar-b-que at Daves bar-b-que
???
Go home and sleep!

As the official director of CoROV Sunday edition i'm open to suggestions from other CoROV members regarding destinations and routes. RSVP Kids :D

I may be up for meeting in Golden or Boulder someplace.  Not too excited about traversing Denver traffic only to come back north.  Still need to get my V road ready.  Believe it or not, I haven't yet ridden this year!   :'(  Planning on getting her going on Friday with a good ride as well.  Started her up the other day & she started easily, ran smoothly & warmed up before I turned the key to off.  Still need to do the tire pressure check, change the oil & get out for a little warm up before Sunday, but I'd be generally ready to roll by then.

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

Well since I no longer have any bike plates that I can swap(confiscated as evidence), I will get my Red V plates either Tomorrow or friday.

Should be a green light for me Sunday tho.  New oil, rear end fluid, and rear tire...woohoo.

Got my plates so I'm good to go.  Just have to figure out a meeting spot and hit the road.  Be cool to do BBQ in Estes Park tho.

Y'all figger out a spot.  I don't know Boulder too well, but do have GPS.  Anyplace I can grab a cup of coffee & a donut would be great.

Anyone been over Peak to Peak lately?  How much sand & gravel in the corners?  I'm sure there is still some up there - especially with the long, cool, snowy Spring we've had.

Going to be working on bikes all afternoon tomorrow.  Inanecathode is coming over to do his forks & I'll be doing the beginning season maintenance on Silver V.

Also need to get the new video camera system worked out.  Got an Aiptek HD 1080P video camera for my birthday.  No more DV tapes.  It records direct to SD card.  In 640x480 format (what the AV-IN port records) I can get 2 hours on a 4GB card.  Only one hour @ 1080P (30 fps) or 720P (60fps).  I have 2 4GB SD cards & am planning on getting a 32GB card soon so I can ride forever with the camera rolling!   ;D  Now, I just need to get some new video editing software.   :P

I use VirtualDub 1.7.0

It's worked flawlessly for me. Cutting, cropping, resizing, filtering, format changes, etc. It doesn't do titling....none of the fancy, smancy stuff.

I used to use Roxio Easy Media Creator - can't remember the version.  Anyway, Microsoft did an upgrade of some sort last Summer that makes that version inoperable.  Tried reinstalling, etc.  Of course, Roxio doesn't support that version anymore.   ::)  Even got my computer guru to look at it (he was head of design for MS NT before retiring).  He couldn't make it work either - he had the same versions & issues.  He knows it's in the Direct X code someplace.  I may get the latest version.  I'm used to the interface & it does all the fancy cuts, fades, titling & up to 32 tracks for sound.  Not bad for under $100 ($80 after rebate or on sale).

Alrighty dudes, got a route figured out. Slight change in plans, we'll be meeting in golden. Its alot closer to where we'll start off. Boulder to 46 is quite a trek, mostly morning traffic on highway 93, not a good place to be at 9-10am

9 - 10 AM on a Sunday is not going to be terribly crowded.  Going down 34 from Estes to Loveland in the afternoon will be the heavy traffic.  You might want to slightly alter that route & head down from Estes Park through Glen Haven and out onto 34 @ Drake.  Less traffic & lots twistier.  It's known as the Devil's Gulch Road.  That's how I'll plan on heading home fron Estes.

I may meet y'all at the junction of Hwys 7 & 72, a bit South of Allenspark.  It's the road that comes up out of Lyons - the one that isn't 36.  I haven't put even one mile on the bike yet this year & think a 200 mile day is a little much for a first stint.  I know, I'm just a wimp . . ..  I'll be riding a little tomorrow as I get some maintenance items done, but probably no more than 50 or 60 miles & that will be in 2 or 3 trips.

I'm still getting some high speed wiggle.  Should prob try to tighten the head bearings some more again.  No fork oil leaks tho.  Did 46 coming back after dark....Fun trying to guess where the curve is going to be.

I like the forks, i dont notice a huge difference but it does absorb shock alot better.
Tell you what though, those head bearings are notchy as hell. Might have to swing by h2o's house of V for a combination vision spa treatment and head bearing installation ;)
