Howdy,
Who thinks what tires would be best suited for a low milage 82 that does mostly comutes with a little fun on the side??

Thanks Max

Hi   Many Visionaries recommend Metzlers such as the m33, some Dunlops, but these are pricy. I have used two of the three versions of Cheng Shin the Marquis , which is a Dunlop knock off and the Hi-Max which is a Metzler knock off. I get 5 to 6 thousand on the rears and I ride the hell out of it. They stick very well , You can get them from JC Whitney or Dennis Kirk if you cant find them locally.   They run 35.00 for fronts and 45. for rears.

I like Battlax's, stock size on my beloved '82, they also stick well and handle the rain well too, they run in the low $80's

Bridgestone Spitfires have been the only reasonably priced tires I can find locally and have given me good use.

Hi Paul,  What kind of  milage do you get before you have to replace the rear?

I don't have most of my records here but 7000-10000km seems about right. At the moment the tire has 6403 and has quite a lot of life left. Those are mostly highway miles loaded up so the tire wears flat across eventually. The front goes much longer.
