ignition component?

I'm new to this forum, as of a minute ago.  I've had my 82 Vision since December (3rd bike overall), and I just had my first crash (survived). I haven't had time to look too in depth at the problem but I bashed up the instrument cluster, for which I've just picked up a replacement, but the ignition thingy is displaced and I'll probably need one of those.  I'm obviously not a mechanic but it's a little black circular thing that popped out from underneath, and when I attach and hold this little white plastic piece to it (which fell off) with matching metal nodes, the bike starts up. If anyone thinks I don't need a new one and this is fixable, please let me know. Or, if you have a lead on such a part or combo of components . . .? Thanks!

I have never had mine out, but from your description It sounds like the ignition switch.  any way you can post a picture of the part?

You can post for this part and others you might now need in the swap section of the Forum.
