Switching to Synthetic Oil

My next oil change is in a few hundred miles and i want to go synthetic, it seems to be the way to go.
Is there anything special i need to do to go from the cheap stuff to synthetic?

I was planning on just draining as much oil out as possible and then filling her up.

Determine what brand of synthetic oil you are going to use and change the filter.

let us know if your gaskets begin to sweat oil.... I have heard that old seals tend to do that
