I rode down to Laughlin to pass out cold water, at the River Run, with the CMA . I rode back with Joel on his new Buellisses  and Frank on his Canocoors. When we pulled on to I40 off of 68, all three of us nailed it going up the grade , Its amazing how well the Vision acquits it self , when in company with two other bikes that are 1000 and 1200 cc's.
I used up my head light bulb (100/130 watt) so next day I went looking for a new one . All I could get was a 80/100 watt ,it seems adequate  so I'll continue with it.

I went back down Saturday and as I reached the top of the pass a HD bagger pulled along side , packing double. Its amazing how well that thing pulled , he was doing  95 when  he pulled along side. i asked him what engine he had , when we stopped at light, at the bottom of the hill , it was 103 CI.

Traffic was really bad  on the strip in Laughlin, and for some reason my fan would not come on ( its on a manual switch) Soon it was over heating and peeing coolant on the ground. I had reached my destination so I parked it and let it cool . Later I came out and managed to remove the cap ( I cut the the no access  strap over the cap , off many years ago )  I'm going to get a car cap , with ears , I had to get help putting it back on.
I had no problem getting home and when I checked the fan, it was working fine . I'll have to pull the fairing again and inspect all the wiring in there.

I have a '82 XT 200 Yamaha , which needs a bore job, and a '67 YG1T Yamaha which needs a lot.
I'm pretty much decided that the '74 XL350 is parts.

The YG1 was a mile stone bike. It was far faster and much more reliable than anything that came before. Actually the '67 is a YG1TK Y =Yamaha, G = 80cc, 1 =  first model in the series, T= trail bike and K = oil injection.
We were amazed at how well it ran (compared to the run of the mill 125's from the early sixties) and
were were able to get lots of horse power , with a few simple modifications and still retain the reliability.
I've owned  3 or 4 of them . By today's standards there  not much , but viewed from the perspective of 1962, they were exceptional.
I'm hoping to get this  80cc, rotary valve single ,running this summer.

LAUGHLIN -  Funny but the last time we were passing through that way was in 90/91.  I remember stopping at a gas bar for a fill up & returning with a big laugh about the seeing "NO NAME CONDUMS" at the till for the Cheap F-ckers  !  They were even in yellow and black packages!    Instantly thought of a certain brother-in-law!!!
Cheers  Ken S. :D
