Title: Labor Day commute
Post by: steve on September 04, 2007, 12:02:13 AM
Bummer our store was open today so I had to work but the commute was from heaven since the traffic was so light.  There's a section of Hwy 29 that goes over Mt. St. Helena.  Its windy and about 8 miles long and perfect for sport bikes except the road is usually shared with trucks, rv's, boats, old people, hot shots, idiots, etc, etc, etc.  Not normally good for "pushing the pace".  Today, it was perfect!!  The road was all mine!  I passed a couple of cars as I started up the mountain and didn't see another car until about 1/8th of a mile from the bottom on the other side.  The rest of the ride (about 25 miles) was much the same with the road wide open and no traffic!!  The weather was perfect since it is California.  Why can't every day be like this? ;D
