Well mine is 11J000650. Quite near the low end. I think in the above posted link the lowest number sofar is 510.
Oh, I wonder who or where #550 is. Wouldn't that be a hoot. Owning a XZ550/Vision with the #550. Would definately make it a collector item I think.
Mine is 11j020216.So I take it I have the 20216 bike produced.
What I would find interesting is how many Visions did Yamaha sale in the US? I have no idea if the vin number really tells us this, I know we've posted vin numbers before but I don't think we ever were able to conclude how many potential bikes are out there.
Hey my V's only 30 feet away from me in the office parking lot, number 008237!
20216 is the highest one I remember hearing of.
1982 Model
My vin is an 11H#and I am 2480.
I am wondering about the 11J, is that the number on the motor?
product line number? ???
according to the NL site. 11J is Canada.
and 11H is US
Check out www.xz550.nl/ there is a section on models.

...its on a Red & White Canadian '83 Rick... ;)
I am curious how many were actually built. It would be neat to have either the first or last one.Or all of them for that matter.
As Ii understand it Yamaha won't say , what total production was.

yeah, that's so the insurance would cover the last thousand that accidently fell overboard ::)
1000 Visions were lost at sea? Oh my "V", with drowned and sacrificed brothers.
So, if some 20k V's were produced, are 10% still running? That's 2000 and 50% are reporting in? Just a guess!
my vin is JYA11H000CA006410,, so 6410..
