Title: Only starts once
Post by: russellsea on July 16, 2009, 01:46:32 PM
My vision has ran solid for about three years now, but now that I've let it sit for two months or so, I go to start it and it starts right up but I have to keep giving gas so it wont die.  If I let it die it doesn't start back up for nothing unless I let it sit for awhile and the process continues.  Just wondering if any one may no these symptoms.

Verify that you have fuel flow from the tank and out the float bowl drains with the petcock in PRIME.

If you don't have enough, clean out the blockage in whatever is plugged.
1. tank screen
2. Petcock body has a valve
3. Fuel filter plugged?
4. No fuel filter and good flow so far? You carburetor needle and seats are plugged and the carb tops have to be pulled, minimum.

Not even a year ago I rebuilt both carbs with the keyster kits and put in a inline filter, so I'm thinking it may be the petcock that I have had probs with before.

Put it it "Run" or "on" and suck on the vacuum tube and gas should flow.
