Title: Electrical gremlins
Post by: arnie on May 17, 2015, 09:54:51 AM
Here may be a new one . Had no problems last year electrically . After winter this spring turned over but no spark . Tried relays new tci coils tested ok still no spark . New plugs , nothing seemed to work . When I ground the oil pressure  switch to the block all is good , I have spark and it runs . Go figure . But without the ground it stops  , no spark . Ground to engine is good . Any ideas ?  I have bypassed the clutch inter lock and Side stand switch .

Are you positive it is the oil pressure switch and not the neutral switch. The neutral switch would be more related to the ignition while the oil pressure switch just lights a light.

Have you disconnected the black/yellow wire to the ecu. It's kind of shooting in the dark, but worth a try.

Does your oil pressure light work normally? If it does then I would think it would be grounded already.
