Title: Taking the fork spring plunge this week
Post by: vl5150 on February 01, 2016, 03:33:41 PM
I love using Amazon.com for bike parts since I get free 2 day shipping.  I did the Progressive springs on my '84 Nighthawk 700 and then started looking over at the Vision all lonely with the stock limp fork springs so I ordered a set today.

The installation notes say no spacer is required.  Is that good to go or did anyone add the spacer?

That is dependent on your weight and how much the bike 'sags' when you sit on it.  That SHOULD be covered in the installation instructions, I would think.

The came in today and it took about 5 mins to install them.  Much better than stock.  Seems about 20% firmer and better bite in the turns. I just stuck with no spacers.  I have the stock ones I can cut down if needed later.  It's amazing what a soft spring Yamaha put on these to begin with though.
