Title: Gremlin gooshed it radiator load.
Post by: MoVision on May 01, 2021, 10:09:00 PM
I just put the radiator plastic cover back.

Not really detected as much as splooging out. Behind the mid drive assembly so I can't see anything at all. Was just testing the hoses on the right aide which had all been replaced. Left soon gushed out. Once the fluid was cool to the touch it was noticed that there was sediment as well. Will see where I can get with it on the lift tomorrow. Pretty mad about it but I understand age vs parts rule is in effect here.

Have you flushed your cooling system?  It is amazing the "stuff" that can accumulate in there.  You have an aluminum radiator, not brass, so selection of coolant can be important.  Coolants recommended for Japanese cars with aluminum blocks (and radiators) should be good.  Also be careful of the water used to dilute the coolant, as 'tap water' can have impurities that can precipitate out, which can build a sludge and restrict flow, which causes over heating.  Use distilled water. :police:

No, I did not flush the cooling system. It drained and so it was my understanding I could just refill and go. Well, guess I should look that up and knock it out this weekend.
