Title: Blue Ridge Parkway Vision Report
Post by: George R. Young on September 09, 2002, 07:03:23 AM
The Vision made its 18th trip down the Blue Ridge Parkway, from Ottawa
Ontario to Cherokee, NC, about 4000 km. This road is motorcycle heaven, and
the Vision power characteristics match it perfectly.

Bike worked fine with a couple of minor irritants. The odometer cable
broke, and the rear brake pedal return spring disappeared. One bit of
speeding, but only a warning from the Park Ranger.

Took spare alternator, reg/rect, tci, clutch cable and levers, and needed
nary a one. The charging system continued to work!

BTW, a simple test to see if your charging system is still working is to
beep the horn. It seems to require more voltage than the ignition and gives
some early warning about stator failure. So picture this fool tooling down
the BRP, merrily tooting his horn at nothing.
