82 acceleration pump

Could anyone of u having no stumbling 82 VIsion give me the lenght of the visible thread on the acceleration pump rod.

I have a version without the stopping screw.... thank u very much in advance

You know, the stop screw really doesn't seem to do anything...

maximum length of the rod is 60 mm from the bend to the lever.  if it ever stops raining i'll measure some thread lengths & give you an avarage.

stumbling is most often the accel pump circuit(clogged nozzles, bad diaphragm), or clogged pilot gas jet.  this is assuming the low speed screws are properly set. These are the only 2 causes I have found on my bikes. Fixing these eliminated all stumbling.
looks aren't important, if she lets you play by your rules

just to add to what Jason is saying, all else being equal, if the accel pump & pilot circuts are clean then pilot screws that are 'close' but not 'right-on' will contribute to a stumble, especially cold.

the carb I am fixing has been in pieces for three years and had never been complete in my hands. I know the reasons for stumbling but untill I put it together I won't be able to say whether it is stalling or not. Accelator pump rod was in pieces so I just need the measurments of the non stumbling carb.... thanks for this information....

I am doing this change because I want to install it in my bike which I am selling next week probably, in a moment I will be selling my 83 fuel system...

ok, then 55mm should put you right in the ballpark.
