suffering from haunted bike , ,but when back on riding status, would like more volume from my pipes.
have stock pipes and cans on now , with rear plate drilled in "daisy "pattern(6 holes evenly spaced around center hole )
this gives more tone, but no more volume . can i modify stock cans any more with out damage or would i be better off buying a set of good used or getting a set of blasters custom built at local drag shop?
?after my initial year of ownership ,i have decided i need a lot more pipe noise, if for nothing else, to keep people in cars from switching lanes when they get beside me .
maybe harley guys have it figured out ,loud pipes may save lives,,,(just kill hearing )
I do like the sound of wolf pipes, but hate the look of the one sided set up(and my sissy bar cover would find a way to stick her foot into the wheel in motion )
keep your bike running, your beer cold ,and your passport handy.all are like money in the bank .

Ah.... welcome to the blake side my friend..

I made my own exhaust... wasnt that hard... basically straight pipes, i have two coming out the right side right now. ?I have a 6" baffle put in the end on each pipe and its still oud when you take it past 4,000. ?and without the baffles... lets just say DO NOT ride unless you have ear plugs in.. ?;D.. definately a head turner....

However... after someone commented to me the incredible "street fighter" look (took off mirrors, and its all flat black rattle can job) i was looking in a deniis kirk magazine for a buell exhaust..i decided to make another system thats a little different. ?What im going to do is take the front ehausts and merge into a 1-1/2" pipe then a 1-3/4" pipe, and run it under the left side like stock, but end it right before the rear wheel-klind of like the stock header. ?And for the rear cylinder-this is where the buell setup gave me the idea- merge the rear two pipes, have it come out that space on the right side above the frame and behind the rear cylinder, have it come down, and then go forward to the clutch cover, and loop back down and come back to end right before the rear tire. ?right after i post this ill see if i can find a picture of it. ?I think it looks pretty cool on the buell, and the fact that one pipe will will be longer than the other will help even out the power band. ?But after this gets built within the next couple weeks hopefully, i can jet the carbs with my AFR meter that should be here within a few weeks too. ?

But if you have any ideas i can definately help you out with design/ idea stuff. ? another idea i was tossing around was make each cylinder merge to one bigger one, and then run the straight pipe under the seat (with a heat shield above it of course. ?but chop the fender flare on the back and you'd have a under seat straight pipe exhaust :)... ? ?once again.. i state the fact that i have too much time on my hands.. :)

Something like that link...i cant find the picture of the one i was looking at...  but would be the front cylinder coming down like that (without the muffler) and the rear cycliner..

One more thing..if you can weld...you can make your own for about 50 bucks using mandrel bends.  bends are pretty cheap from the place i use www.magnumforceracing.com... using those its simply measure, measure, cut, and weld.. hardest part ill admit is the transition of two pipes... requires a bit more measuring.

i think,, but then , sometimes a bit abstractly,,,,
what i decided to do was easier than i was making it -
i went to online jc whitney, bought a pair of 24 inch cruiser bullets,  4 1/2 in diameter with turn outs or straight tips(interchangable tips )
am going to take bike and the new cans to a local machinist, have hime build a adapter to direct weld the new cans onto stock collector assy .
that eliminates the new can look problem,
as for sound ,, these are tunable, using variable discs, just turn lock nut loose, adjust to level i like, the lock it down, and re-install the tips    only decision now is turn outs or straight tips ,,, turn outs more fun ,less noisy on bike , but hard on ears in traffic ,,,, straights are cool,,, but look like granny pipes ,,,,    maybe go turn out , save the granny pipe tips for use later when turn outs need replacing
