Has anyone come up with aftermarket front pegs? Do pegs from other bikes fit? How did you remove the old rivet?

Thanks..

Bruce.

Are you talking about replacing the foot peg rubber?  If so, use a utility knife and slice the old rubber lengthways until you can tear it off its' steel carrier peg.  The new rubber slips straight on to the carrier.  When it is pushed all the way(and I mean ALL the way) on it locks into place around the carrier peg.  From that point on it will be very difficult to remove.  Replacements are available from Yamaha.  Or, take an old rubber to the local junk yard and search out a match.  Several Yamaha and Kawasaki models use this same peg rubber.  If you find acceptable items in the yard, they can be removed from their carrier pegs but it will difficult.  Cheers.

If the problem with yours is that the covers are worn out, they can still be ordered from Yamaha, about $12 ea I believe.

The rubber is worn, so that advice is great, but I was also wondering if anyone has changed them with a different style.
