I just got off the phone with my new car and house insurance agency, and asked them if they also do motorcycles.  The guy said yes, and after giving him the info about the 'V', I got a quote for a total of $419/year.  Coverage is for $2M liability, no fault coverage, and any thing else that the province of Ontario requires as minimum coverage.

This premium beats my current coverage of $566/year with JEVCO.

The new quote is with DESJARDIN Insurance.

So if any other Canadian riders are up for getting a quote feel free to call them and see what you get.

I just received a letter from Intacct Insurance Group...part of Intact Financial Corp'...to let me know that they have acquired Jevco Insurance Company!!!

The insurance rates are why 'The Mistress' has been sitting since I acquired the FJ!!! I was paying $535.00 a year for basic insurance with Jevco. I took the insurance off of the 'V' and put it on the FJ, which cost me an extra $170.00!!!

We have, here in Ontario, some of the highest rates in Canada...They are all thieves, rouges and vagabonds in my mind!!! >:(

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

Don't even speak about it Hartless!  We do get the shaft, royally  :'(.  One thing I have noticed fellows here in Canada is that most insurance companies give you a good rate for the first year then push it up each year thereafter.  This has happened twice on me, so now I check every second year with other companies to see if I can get a better rate.  They use this technique to get business and then hope you won't notice, at least that what it seems to me.  I am currently with TD insurance which uses Meloche Monnex and they have been great for the last two years, we will see how it goes next year?

I think we are lucky here ,,insurance was cheap until the earthquake but I have 3rd party insurance on mine and it costs me 25 New Zealand dollars or a little under 22us dollars per year

My bikes have a classic bike insurance. Insurance is € 53 / $ 70 a year. Maximum coverage is 7 bikes on 1 insurance policy. Only 1 rider permitted. Max distance 5.000 km / 3.100 mls a year. Bike has to be over 25 years. It's a Dutch insurance company. National registration only.

tremalzo, sounds like you've got an excellent deal.

Rikugun

Three miles a year? Hardly seems worth owning a bike and incurring the cost for three miles.

Mmm, my mistake. In Europe a dot is used as separation. 3100 is written as 3.100. In US writing this is 3,100.
