this ride took place about a year ago it sticks in my mind because we had such an outstanding time. we took off with our bikes in the back of CB's truck and drove about 125 mi. north of sacramento. we unloaded the bikes at a small town called red bluff, ca.  CB rides a 900ss ducati and me with my trusty vision. hiway 36 from red bluff out to the coast is about 150mi. of the most outstanding pavment on the earth.  someone once said that this is where god rides.  the people who built this road must have had bikes in mind because this sucker goes up and down, back and forth forever.  the area is so low of population that ther is very little if any traffic.  about half way across there is some gas and we filled up.  i just wanted to hang out and shoot the bull about all the awsome sections we had been running but CB reminded me that we still had a good 60mi. to go and it was going to be getting dark and cold so we pressed on.  as you get closer to the ocean you come into the coast redwoods.  before long we were at fortuna, ca.  no rooms so we had to continue on  upthe coast to eureka, ca.  we walked a couple of blocks and ate seafood.  the next morning was foggy and we went to a town nearby called ferndale,ca.  they have this old main street with victorian houses all painted up, it was good to drink coffee and have a look.  at the chevron they make burritos so we got a couple to go.  we headed back on 36 again and rode out about 45min. till we got in the sun and ate our food.  it's hard to take having this much fun 2 days in a row!!  my vision was keeping up with that ducati  and at times i even had the advantage in the real tight stuff.  we made it back out to red bluff, thru the bikes in the truck and headed for home.  it is always nice to use the truck for the long straight ride home.  well i hope i haven't bored you to much with this story, i'm new to posting and just wanted to let you in on the kind of riding we enjoy.    supervision...

hi rick, i've noticed your ride posts and your location, we've done other rides up the one time, meeting at castle craigs going up to weed, west to 3, south to 299, east over to lassen, south to tahoe, then back home to turlock.  that was a three day ride camping. the camping made for too much gear and not the best sleep, i'll take the motel next time.  supervision
