GT @ oh.

Looks like a girls bike  ;D:D love the seat :D ;D..where'd you get the rack ;D :D

YellowJacket!

Kevin, She looks great!

As for the wandering Idle, it is either a vacuum leak or most likely, a leaking YICS.  My idle was erratic and slow to rev down when my YICS was leaking in one chamber.

By the way, where did you get that really cool looking fairing from?

82 with fairing, rejetted, 83 turbo seca fork and brakes coming whenver I acquire the rest of the parts, and she stops breaking long enough to be in the garage for an upgrade instead of a repair.

nice job Carly!  ;D ..... very nice

ask Dad since he put 83 pipes and headers on your bike, did he go to the 83 jetting?
tell him to search for one of Jasonm's post about putting 83 head pipes on an 82  ;)

Kevin,
Carlie's bike really turned out nice. your hard work, knack for crafting custom metalwork and attention to detail is near perfect.
i dont thnk there is another bike in the forum that has custom rack  that looks right, custom hardbag mounts that look right , and the detail work on her engine speaks volumes for you and your whole family.

oh, nice touch polishing the top plate and risers too!

now we just have to figure out how she is going to ride the bike to college classes ,what with book loads and laptop,  lol
keep your bike running, your beer cold ,and your passport handy.all are like money in the bank .

Nice looking V!  I'll second the YICS as a likely culprit in the wandering idle issue.  The fairing looks pretty cool & your fabricated rack fits it nicely.  Carlie should really enjoy that ride.   8)

If you have an accident on a motorcycle, it's always your fault. Tough call, but it has to be that way. You're in the right, and dead -on a bike. The principle is not to have any accident. If you're involved in an an accident, it's because you did not anticipate. Then, by default, you failed.

Those look like my Shoie bags minus the crome bumpers & side lights.. how did you mount them?

The rack is my making, Carlie didn't want a backrest.I'll check into rejetting the carbs, I didn't know there was a difference in the size of the pipes. The fairing is a Tracy Designs, they were in business back in the seventies.I got it off ebay. I had the  idea in my head what I wanted to build for Carlie, it just took a long time to gather up the parts and get pieces made powercoated or painted. I'm kinda proud of the brackets  I made to attach the fairing to the bars. Had to ponder that one for a while. Several ROV members supplied parts for this bike. Thank you all for your help and  advice, parts and friendship.  Kevin

I like the ingenuity of the upper fairing mounts.  Likely wouldn't have thought of using the handlebar ends like that.  The pink striping in the aluminum footpeg brackets is a nice touch as well.

8) Superbly done Kevin. A real labour of love. You have obviously put a lot of thought, time and a few $$$ into Carlie's "V"... 8)

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming HOOOOYA lets go again baby !!!!!!

The black pipes and swingarm look cool on the black bike, that fairing has nice hand protection from the wind.  Those little buckets and the small rack will come in very handy, lools like the seat is lowered too, you did a fine job!

Yes, I recognized the Tracy fairing, I had a similar one on my '76 RD400. Did a good job.
