First Vision ride this year, Saturday morning a friend of mine who rides a 650 Seca and myself took off for Downieville Ca. We wandered around the back roads to Colfax, then 174 to Grassvalley and Hwy 49 to Downieville. Lunch in the Wooden Trout cafe, after lunch continued on 49 to 89 to Truckee, then on to Tahoe city, around the south end of the lake to So Lake Tahoe and hwy 50 for aways to continue on to hwy 89 to hwy 88 then south to Jackson then back home (Folsom Ca.) via hwys 49, 16, and Latrobe rd. About 350 miles, the weather was perfect. Went the entire distance and never got on the Freeway.

Ken, that sounded fun, most of that is on my favorites!  I like a bunch of the roads of that area.  Have you every been, up to Quincy, Ca., then taken the old road up to Buck's lake?  That is a road worth riding, steep!  I did some hot lapping Hollister, TT track on Saturday, followed by a quick 100 mile loop on Hwy 49 Collterville, to Bear Valley, back thru Hornitas Sunday

Supervision, sounds like you had a good time as well.  Yes I've up that way to Bucks lake, there is a BMW rally in Quincy every year, I've been several times.

When I was young, one of my dad's friends had a cabin at Buck's Lake.  A few years in a row we did group ride up their, over night.  Freezing ass cold, riding out of their, the next morning.  Round trip from Turlock, 49, most of the way.  I had a CB500 Four, in those days.

what a great loop.
I'm in Pine Grove so if you come through again sometime try to give me a pm and I'll try to hook up.

Funk, we'll have to try to get together sometime at Markleville or So. Lake.

I rode to Coulterville two weeks ago and met up with Bro Dwight and his turbo.
There was a big benefit concert and bar-b-q at the park for the owner of the Hotel who has cancer.
It drew a lot of Harleys so instead of riding the Dragon we headed up to Greeley Hill and Hwy 120.
Down Priest Grade and home around Tulloch Lake and Poole station Rd.
About 200 miles, it was the longest ride I've been on since I broke my leg.
Looking forward to doing more.
I'm going to try to make the ride at Tehachapi w/ the CROV group (at least for saturday).

Craig, The BSA club has a ride every year, we call it the Sierra ride, it starts at the Starbucks across the street from the McDonalds where you and I met, It's suppose to be for the old British bikes but there is always a new Triumph or two and a errent Japanese machine. I rode my Ducati one year I took some heat because I don't have an excuse. I'll be on my Norton this year. It's next Saturday, 5/9 starts at 10A We show up 9 to 930 to have a cup of coffee and BS alittle. Starbucks, Hwy.50 and Latrobe Rd.

You did'nt hear any of this from me.

Appreciate the info...I won't be able to make it though as I have to take my daughter to a Band event at Vallejo.
I'm trying to make the Tehachapi get together. Ron McCoy and comapny have some great roads down there and some well modified visions.
Maybe later this spring/summer.
